Cul the Serpent Sin/Skadi Thing/Angrir Grey Gargoyle/Mokk Cul the Serpent: In the Fear Itself storyline, the Asgardian God of Fear, Cul the Serpent, presides as antagonist, engineering fear in the hearts of the Marvel superheroes and pitting them against their worst nightmares. Cul is revealed to be the brother of Odin, who occupied the throne of Asgard prior to Odin. Sin/Skadi: The daughter of the Red Skull, Sin locates the Hammer of Skadi and transforms into a goddess to free the Serpent from his prison. Rallying an army of Nazi followers, she seemingly kills Bucky Barnes, and battles the Steve Rogers Captain America, the latter armed with Mjolnir. Thing/Angrir: The Thing acquires the hammer of Angrir and becomes Angrir, the Breaker of Souls, and minion of the Serpent. Angrir defeats the Red Hulk, lofting him with a pulverizing blow, and destroys the Avengers Mansion. Angrir is later defeated by Thor, sustaining a critical wound from Mjolnir, and is restored to his previous form by Franklin Richards. Grey Gargoyle/Mokk: The Grey Gargoyle is transformed into Mokk, the Breaker of Faith, and uses his heightened power to petrify the entire population of Paris. Mokk damages Iron ManTMs armor and pries apart the Detroit Steel armor to petrify Lt. Johnson. He is later restored to the Grey Gargoyle, and Odin ultimately reverses the aforementioned mass petrifaction.
