On February 22, 2011, Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks in a multi-player deal also involving the Minnesota Timberwolves. Carmelo was traded to the Knicks with Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups to play alongside Amare Stoudemire, who was already on the Knicks.
